A Soauwcey Reunion

Friday, March 27, 2009

I met Matt and Bianca in Whistler in 2005, and its been nearly three years since I've seen them. They now reside in London, but last week, they came out to Sainte Foy for three days for a bit of skiing and a jolly good Soauwcing. (Its an in-joke, don't worry)

I should also mention, we were also blessed by the presence of Bianca's long time traveling companion, Slob the Lob. As a plastic lobster, Slob has seen more of the world than most of his kind! Heres slob at the top of Sainte Foy.

Good times were had. Two great days skiing at Sainte Foy, and a monsterous attempt at skiing the full width and breadth of Val d'Isere and Tigne, just up the valley. I spent alot of time with my head in a piste map, and still failed to navigate us correctly. Heres Matt at the top of the Grand Motte (3450m) looking particularly flamboyant.

Their stay also co-incided with Bianca's 28th birthday. She received the ultimate gift -myself in a chicken suit at 8am, bearing a candle-laden croissant. In the evening we enjoyed a meal of typically Savoyard cuisine at Le Perce Neige down the valley.

Cheers for a great few days guys, hope the office isn't dragging to much! Its been terrible here, fresh snow is horrible to ski! Here's a few more photos.
